Remember when parents used to magnet pictures to the front of their refrigerators? With Samsung's new Family Hub Refrigerator, you can still pin those pictures, but you'll do it digitally.

Samsung is blending classic fridge design with high-tech features that will integrate with other smart home devices. The hub for it all: a huge touchscreen that covers nearly one fourth of the fridge's face.

The touchscreen face will feature classic apps like Pandora and new apps like Sticki -- a planner that acts as a hub for a whole family's personal calendars.

Although Samsung had discussed borrowing Siri for this new fridge, it looks like that feature won't be included for the Spring product release. Samsung says they still would like keep the option open to pair its fridge with Amazon Echo in the future.

On the top left door is a traditional ice and water dispenser. The crushed/cubed display is relatively simple, and the two levers to toggle either ice or water help streamline the aesthetic.

The top refrigerator section of the Samsung Family Hub can be expanded by using half of the freezer section as a modified fridge section.

A handy camera will take a photo of the inside of your fridge when you close the doors, so when you're at the store wondering what you're running low on, you can check it on your smart phone.

The French-door style fridge looks very similar to Samsung's past luxury fridges, borrowing the build of last year's Chef Collection Model.

The interior compartments tend to be larger and simpler, taking advantage of the spacious interior.

The Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator will be available for $5000 (about £3,370, or AU$6,860), and its release date is expected sometime in the Spring.
