Meet the Mi Note 2, a familiar looking 5.7-inch phone that seems to resemble a certain explosive device that was in the news recently. But unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the Mi Note 2 lacks a stylus. It does have curves on both sides of the device that make the phone stand out.
It's set to launch on November 1 in China for 3,299 yuan (approximately $485, £400 or AU$640). A cheaper model, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, will retail for 2,799 yuan (roughly $410, £340 or AU$540). There's also a special global model with support for 37 LTE bands used around the world, which will sell for 3,499 yuan ($515, £420 or AU$675).
The phone's dual curves on the front and back of the phone make it look just like the Note 7.
Here's how the curve blends into the front of the phone.
The fingerprint sensor isn't the advanced ultrasonic model found on the company's Mi 5s phone, but a regular capacitive version.
The speaker grilles at the bottom suggest the phone could have dual speakers.
Instead of dual rear cameras, as rumoured, the Mi Note 2 has a single 23-megapixel sensor. Interestingly it seems to lack the optical image stabiliser found on the first Mi Note.
The phone has an infrared sensor and a headphone jack.
The phone also comes in another colour, silver -- this model is gorgeous.
The silver model really stands out.
Here are both colours side by side.
