LAS VEGAS -- The massive CES booths of the biggest TV makers in the world were resplendent with the latest lovely displays. Our tour captures the coolest TVs we saw, from soon-to-ship sets to far-out concept designs.
Sharp's best shipping TV for 2015 splits the red, green, blue and yellow subpixels on the fly in order to generate up to 66 million onscreen pixels. The claim is an even sharper (ahem) picture than regular old 4K TVs.
Hauntingly similar to Sony's X900C, Sharp's Super Slim design will be featured in a new line of TVs due in Q3 2015. It uses a glass light guide to achieve a thickness of about half an inch, or similar to that of a cellphone.
LG Display is the division of LG that actually manufactures OLED, and we got a chance to see the next generation of our favorite TV technology in action. The HDR concept TV offers 60 percent higher brightness in highlights, for even punchier images. No word on when it goes on sale though.
