The Mini gives you a chunk of TiVo DVR functionality without needing to buy an additional DVR.

The Mini requires three connections: power, network, and video and audio. Networking is handled either by wired Ethernet or MoCA, which allows you to stream content over the coax cables in your home. There is no wireless support. Audio and Video can be done via HDMI, or component or composite connections, but the second two options require a special cable.
