This low end dishwasher from GE eschews fancy features and focuses on the basics.
Inside the unassuming exterior of the GE GDF520PGJWW is room for 16 place settings. It runs at a quiet 54 dB. It's a solid cleaner and performed well above average as a dryer.
The GDF520PGJWW has a nice mix of cycles: AutoSense, Heavy, Normal and Light.
You can add a steam prewash to the beginning of your cycle, or time for a heated dry to the end of it.
The silverware basket offers a surprising amount of flexibility. You can place it on the edge of the bottom rack, or hang it from the door.
The GDF520PGJWW includes a second basket for bigger utensils.
You can also attach wine stem holders to the top rack, and raise it and lower it to make room for taller dishes.
The GDF520PGJWW uses well placed water jets to reach both racks.
The GDF520PGJWW does its work quickly. The normal cycle with no add-ons averaged a 98 minute run time.
Turning on the Heated Dry mode produced a great 64.1 percent dry score.
Even with Heated Dry enabled, the dishwasher was ready for the next batch in just over two hours.
You'll want to rinse or scrape your dishes before loading them into the GDF520PGJWW, but it does a fine job handling stuck-on dirt.
The GDF520PGJWW doesn't have a lot of extras, but it does get the basics right at an appealing price.
