The Bissell Bolt Ion promises edge-to-edge cleaning (pictures)

The Bissell Bolt Ion is a convertible vacuum cleaner with a unique feature that focuses the suction, letting you vacuum all the way to the edge.

The $180 vacuum cleaner comes with a powerful 18V battery that ran for an impressive 38 minutes in our tests.

A charging station and two attachments are included in the box.

The blue LED bar gets shorter as the vac loses power.

You can place it on the charging station or simply plug in the vac when the battery needs a refill.

A hand vac pulls out of the stick to help you get the hard-to-reach places.

The attachments stick to the end of the hand vac.

The main stick vacuum has plenty of versatility. At the top of the handle sit buttons for power, suction level, brush roll control and EdgeReach.

Hit the EdgeReach and the blue lights turn on as the orange lip on the front of the vacuum head lowers. The side bristles dig dirt from corners.

With the front lip lowered, the suction focuses near the front of the head.

A trigger on the handle lets you fold it down for storage.

You can fold it the other way, too, and vacuum under the furniture.

Even the brush roll detaches for easy cleaning.
