Meet the LG Nexus 5X. It's the successor to the well regarded Nexus 5, and packs all-new hardware in a sleek package.

The Nexus 5X offers a 12.3-megapixel rear camera, with a 5-megapixel camera up front. And that rear camera shoots 4K Ultra HD video.

The Nexus 5X will include many of the same features as its larger sibling the Nexus 6P, including USB Type-C charging and Nexus Imprint, Google's fingerprint system.

With Nexus Imprint, you'll be able to quickly unlock your phone by pressing the fingerprint sensor on the back of the Nexus 5X and 6P. You'll also be able to authorize Android Pay transactions, and buying apps on the Google Play store.

The USB-C port sits on the bottom. A new standardized port should help clear up cable clutter once they're a bit more ubiquitous, and the new standard promises faster data transfer speeds. Better still it's reversible, so you can plug it in with ease.

The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are equipped with what Google's calling the Android Sensor Hub. It's a low-powered part that'll recognize how you're holding and using your phone, so it can keep your device in a battery-sipping, ready state.

Both devices also pack a pair of front-facing stereo speakers, so you won't have to worry about muffled audio.

And there's good news for both phones: there'll be fewer preloaded apps than ever on Nexus devices.

Press and hold the device's home button, and Now on Tap will figure out the context of what you're doing, and offer you some assistance, whether that's giving you directions to a place you're chatting about, or making reservations at a restaurant someone mentions in an email.
