Stranger Things Lego: Get close up to the Upside Down

Welcome to Hawkins, Indiana -- where Stranger Things are happening. The hit show has now been immortalized in brick form in the first Netflix-themed Lego set, which has the unusual feature of being able to flip over and stand either way up. One side is the Byers house from the show, and the other is a dark mirror image -- the creepy parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. Let's take a closer look...

The set is designed to be built by two people, with two sets of instructions so you can work side by side.

The Byers house is where much of the show's action takes place.

One of you builds the regular house, and your friend builds its mirror image, the Upside Down version.

Minifigs include Joyce Byers and Sheriff Hopper.

When you're done, the two halves of the set clip securely together.

Sheriff Hopper shows up in his Chevrolet Blazer police cruiser. You can drive it around separately, or fix it in place so it stays parked even when you flip the set upside down.

Look at the detail on the drawing Joyce holds. The set is full of such nifty detail, including missing persons flyers and posters on the wall.

The living room boasts an alphabet wall of fairy lights that Joyce used to communicate with her missing son -- and it really lights up thanks to a light brick mounted in the ceiling.

Details include this Jaws-inspired poster and of course the classic 1980s phone.

The detailed Stranger Things Lego set set took us well over five hours to build, and that was with two of us hard at work.

The various rooms of the house are mirrored in the Upside Down, with a creepy twist.

The Upside Down house is made of gray and blue bricks, with sinister tendrils and tentacles everywhere.

Unlucky Will Byers is lost in the Upside Down.

Instead of his mom Joyce, Will is stuck with a terrifying demogorgon.

The alphabet wall in the Upside Down definitely doesn't light up.

Will is stalked by the horrifying demogorgon.

Luckily, Will's friends are on their way! Dustin, Lucas, Eleven and Mike come with signature headwear and accessories including a catapult, compass and tasty Eggo waffles.

The set is supported by sturdy legs on either side, disguised as trees, so you can easily flip it over without it coming to pieces. It also comes with a display stand for your minifigs. Grab a friend and pick up the Lego Stranger Things set, or wait for season 3 to start on July 4.
