'Star Wars' fans get 32 new Lego sets (pictures)

Lego's new "Star Wars" collection is "one of the largest and most diverse" yet. Get ready to stock up on sets based on the movie saga, animated series and video games.

​Build Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter

Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter features a detachable escape pod, droid eject function, retractable front landing gear, lightsaber storage, four spring-loaded shooters and an astromech droid. The set retails for $40 in the US (UK and Australian prices weren't available for any of the sets, but we've converted them -- $40 is around £25 or AU$50).

This mega-detailed Lego TIE fighter measures 18.5 inches (47cm) high, 12 inches (30.6cm) long and 12.2 inches (31cm) wide after putting together all 1,685 Lego pieces. The TIE fighter retails for $200 (about £170 or AU$260).

Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader Constraction sets debut

The first "Star Wars" Constraction sets -- constructable action figures -- were also unveiled by Lego. The Lego sets feature Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker ($20, £13 or AU$26) and are set to appear in September.

Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
