A galaxy of Star Wars merch, from X-Wing cars to tasty droids

This Volkswagen Beetle dressed up as BB-8 made plenty of adorable droid sounds as fans took photos with it at Star Wars Celebration 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

Nissan reimagined one of its road-bound vehicles as an X-Wing, complete with a droid along for the ride.

The Hot Wheels Darth Vader toy car made an appearance at New York Toy Fair, but at Star Wars Celebration, a life-size version of the vehicle tempted fans over to the dark side.

At Star Wars Celebration, Hasbro debuted its "Forces of Destiny" toy line, which will tie into a series of animated shorts about characters from the movies and television shows. The figures range in price from $20 to $35 in the US (that's roughly £15 to £30 and AU$25 to AU$45).

The "Forces of Destiny" edition of Rey's staff will be compatible with Hasbro's Bladebuilders line of Star Wars weapons that can be combined. Items from the line can be attached onto the staff.

"The Forces of Destiny" animated shorts that tie into the toy line of the same name will be available online on Disney's YouTube channel and will also air on the Disney Channel network.

Hasbro will release Poe Dameron's helmet, which looks large enough to wear, this September.

Rey's Speeder debuted at Star Wars Celebration. It's set to hit stores this fall for $60 (roughly converting to £45 and AU$80).

Commander Gree, who was in "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "The Clone Wars" television series, is coming to stores this fall for $25 (roughly £20, AU$30).

Luke Skywalker's land speeder also debuted at Star Wars Celebration. It comes with a poncho, hat and rifle and also has a new head sculpt, which updates the figure to look more like Mark Hamill's portrayal. This set will cost $60 (about £45, AU$80).

This First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack by Lego will hit in June.

June will also bring Lego's Stormtrooper Commander set.

A Lego version of Rathtar Escape also comes out in June.

Want to go beyond the movies? Several books are coming out this year that will flesh out the overall Star Wars mythos. These include a "Phasma" book about Captain Phasma set for this September, and "Star Wars Battlefront II Inferno Squad," which will serve as a prologue of sorts for the matching video game.

"Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View" is an anthology of 40 stories in the Star Wars galaxy. This book, due out in October, will be part of an effort to raise money for the nonprofit First Book, which provides books and learning materials to educators and organizations that help kids.

"Star Wars Catalyst" will serve as a prequel story to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." The book comes out on May 2.

To show the extent of his fandom during a press briefing for Star Wars Battlefront II, Dice Creative Developer Bernd Diemer showed off the German Jedi card he received as a kid.

Who knew BB-8 could taste as sweet as the droid looks? Jillycakes, a bakery based in Winter Park, Florida, sold Star Wars-themed cupcakes on the exhibition floor.

Cupcakes based on R2-D2 and C-3PO were also among the Star Wars characters fans could eat up.

Disney showed off concept art for Star Wars-themed areas coming to Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California in 2019. Among the expected attractions will be one that lets visitors pilot the Millennium Falcon.

Those working on the Disney theme park areas teased that guests will be visiting a brand new corner of the Star Wars galaxy, complete with the ability to align with multiple characters.

These figures were part of the Gentle Giant booth at Star Wars Celebration.

This small-scale version of the R2-D2 ANA Jet was on the floor in front of a very, very large image of the plane that people could take photos in front of.

The C-3PO ANA Jet was also on the floor.

Fans who made it into the panel for "The Last Jedi" could grab this teaser poster for the film.

The Funko booth had a large statue of Chewbacca fans could walk up to.

ThinkGeek was selling the Nixon Kensington Rey Edition watch for $125 (roughly £100, AU$165).

At the show, ThinkGeek also revealed these Jabba the Hut and Salacious Crumb mugs from the Geeki Tikkis brand. They cost $25 (roughly £20, AU$35).

This set of six Star Wars Geeki Tikkis cost $80, which roughly converts to £60 and AU$105.
