Sprint's Galaxy Nexus says hello (photos)

It wasn't a huge surprise, but Sprint used CES 2012 to unveil its own Samsung Galaxy News with support for the carrier's new LTE network.

Here it comes

Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Nexus is virtually identical to the original version we saw launch with Verizon in December, except that there are no barriers to Google Wallet. It has a 4-inch HD Super AMOLED touch screen and Google's Ice Cream Sandwich Android operating system.

Camera and back

It has a 5-megapixel camera with flash, and the capability of recording video in 1080p HD video. It'll play back video in 720p HD. On the front is a 1.3-megapixel camera. There's also a nice, textured back cover that's soft to the touch.

What's up, dock?

The shiny ports on the right side hook into desk docks. Just next to it is a power control/lock button.

Slim profile

The Galaxy Nexus is thin (0.35 inch) and pretty light (4.76 inches), although its battery makes it heavier than other models we've seen. It has a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor.

Around back

The camera lens and flash are located on the phone's rear side. The Sprint model has the same "hyperskin" material on the back cover.
