Kunimasa Suzuki, President and CEO of Sony Mobile, kicked off the show with more information about the Sony SmartBand wearable device.
Kunimasa Suzuki shows off the Sony SmartBand, which is set to hit the market in March. An SDK is in the works to give developers the ability to tie into the tracking platform.
The Sony SmartBand is IP58 waterproof, tracks activity and sleep, plus additional controls for phone features like your music.
The SmartBand wrist straps could be enhanced with extra widgets, like this snap-in camera concept. The camera could take pictures automatically and add them to your life log.
Many design partnerships are expected for the Sony SmartBand to let the concept suit any user's design tastes. Or lack thereof.
Kunimasa Suzuki reveals the Sony Xperia Z2, which updates the Z series' waterproof design, upgrades to a 5.2-inch screen without increasing the device size, adds a Snapdragon 2.3GHz quad-core processor, and upgrades the camera to 20.2 megapixels, as well as adding 4K video recording.
Sony continues its company wide push for 4K video, adding 4K video recording to its new flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2.
A demo on stage shows real-time overlay of a Spider-Man mask on Kunimasa Suzuki. It probably works on other camera subjects, too.
The Sony Xperia Z2's Triluminos display gives the smartphone one of the richest displays available in a phone today.
Kunimasa Suzuki reveals the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet, now just 6.4mm thin. It features the Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a Full HD screen. It will be available in March.
Kunimasa Suzuki introduces a cheaper model smartphone, the Xperia M2. A 4.8-inch qHD device with an 8-megapixel camera, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and NFC. It is launching in April.
Kaz Hirai makes a guest appearance at the Sony MWC 2014 press conference to reaffirm the continued "One Sony" message.
