Sony Ericsson introduces Xperia Arc S

At the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, Sony Ericsson debuted the Xperia Arc S. The next-gen version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc will be available in select markets worldwide in Q4. Pricing was not announced at this time.

The Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread phone will bring users more entertainment options, including access to Sony Entertainment's Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited services, with a catalog of 10 million songs, radio channels, and the latest movies and TV shows.

Hardware improvements

The Xperia Arc S also has a faster 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor and promises 25 percent faster camera startup and 20 percent faster Web page rendering than its predecessor.

Other features

The handset offers a 4.2-inch, 854x480-pixel Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA engine, an 8-megapixel camera with 2D and 3D panorama sweep mode, and HDMI out.
