Settup up CES 2008: Sunday
It takes an army to set up the biggest trade show in America. See what the show looks like as the CES elves ready the show floor for Monday's big opening.
140,000 CES 2008 attendees can explore the nearly 2 million square feet of exhibition space at this year's conference--exploring everything from underwater camcorders to colorful touch-screen phones--if their legs can take all the walking.
This is but one of the show hall lobby areas in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
An event technician sets up lighting in the South Hall of the LVCC in preparation for the highly illuminated show. It wouldn't be Vegas, after all, without plenty of neon.
Meanwhile, the CNET.com crew is busy setting up the CNET Live Stage, just outside the South Hall. Brian Cooley and the gang test their microphones and sound levels.
With one night left to prepare for the show opening, presenters rehearse while technicians install remaining booth components.
RCA rolls out the blue carpet for its selection of TVs.
It takes an enormous amount of elbow grease to prepare for the world's largest consumer technology trade show. Here, workers mop the floor squeaky clean.
CES staff takes a much needed nap after a morning of intense construction work.
Show maps, vendor directories, and free tech magazines wait for the pre-show press day.
Convenient stations let press print out personalized routes between booths and vendors--a wonderful convenience in a show that stretches across many halls and show floors.
