Samsung's Galaxy Exhilarate is a sweet deal (pictures)

AT&T just lowered the price on its already-budget Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate, an Android 2.3 smartphone with plenty of pow.

Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate's price will make your heart beat

Money isn't everything, but a low price tag certainly shines a light on the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate, which was already a wallet-friendly $49.99 at full price, after signing a new, two-year service agreement. The phone starts with a nice 4-inch Super AMOLED screen.

Android inside

Android 2.3 Gingerbread runs the show. There's no word on an upgrade to Android 4.0 or 4.1, but I recommend being content with Gingerbread.

What's on the back

The Exhilarate's 5-megapixel camera with flash does a pretty good job capturing the moment. The black backing is plain, but has a rubberized feel for grip.

Thin it isn't

This is no super-slim device, but it doesn't have to be. Based on the original Galaxy S design, it's still less than half an inch thick.

More memory, I say!

There's a charger port at the heel of the phone.
