UND8000 series

The UND8000 is Samsung's best LED TV for 2011, with improved local dimming from an edge-lit configuration and a touch-screen remote, not to mention a 0.2-inch-wide frame.

UND8000 series with 3D 'Shrek'

Like many Samsung TVs, the flagship UND8000 is 3D-compatible. And yes, it, too, can play the "Shrek" 3D Blu-ray.

UND7000 series

Another Samsung LED TV with a 0.2-inch bezel is the UND7000 series. Instead of metal, however, its bezel has a transparent edge.

It's easier to appreciate the thinness of the bezel when the TV is turned on.

UND6400 series

The UND6400 series lacks that thin bezel, but otherwise it's similar to the UND700. It's described by Samsung as an "affordable" LED-based 3D TV.

PDP8000 series

Samsung's flagship plasma TV from last year, the PNC8000 series, was our second-favorite TV of 2010, so it's no surprise we expect good things from its successor, the PND8000 series.

PDP7000 series

Samsung didn't detail the D7000 plasma in its press info, but we do know that it has a different-colored bezel (charcoal and not silver) and lacks the D8000's Web browser and touch-screen remote.

PDP6500 series

The midlevel PND6500 series showcases many of the company's changes compared with its 2010 plasmas.

UND6000 series

Samsung didn't provide any information on this lower-end series, or any of the ones that follow, but we're posting the images anyway for the curious. The ones with model names that begin "UN" are LED-based LCDs, and the ones with "PD" are plasmas.
