Jessica Dolcourt is a passionate content strategist and veteran leader of CNET coverage. As Senior Director of Commerce & Content Operations, she leads a number of teams, including Commerce, How-To and Performance Optimization. With its proprietary OS, smallish screen, and slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Samsung Trender recalls the heyday of messaging cell phones.

Compact

Unless you've got giant paws, you won't be able to hold a jumbo smartphone like this. The trade-off for such compactness is the phone's 2.8-inch screen. Since there's no virtual keyboard on the Trender, it mostly works just fine. Read CNET's full Samsung Trender review.
