Another Gingerbread phone for Cricket

Cricket has been expanding its Android stake at a rapid clip, a move that signals the shift away from feature phones and toward entry-level smartphones, particularly of the Android variety. This Android 2.3 Gingerbread slider has a stock interface, without any extra custom interface.

Keyboard falls flat

The 3.2-inch screen is a little small to use the virtual keyboard, but the Transfix aims to fix that with its slide-out keyboard. Unfortunately, the flat keys make it hard to type.

A 3.2-megapixel and camcorder round out the features. The Samsung Transfix costs $179.99 from Cricket stores, without a contract.
