Samsung Series 5 Chromebook unveiled (photos)
Samsung shows off a first-of-its-kind Chromebook in at Google's I/O developers conference San Francisco.
Unveiled
Wednesday night at an event in San Francisco, Samsung unveiled it's Series 5 Chrome, a first of it's kind cloud-based laptop running the Chrome OS.
The lightweight laptop utilizes Google web based services in lieu of a hard drive.

Samsung Series 5 Chromebook
The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook powers up when opened, giving users immediate access to the Web and Google's cloud services.

Personalized laptop
Samsung Series 5 Chromebook requires a Google account to log in, which means that each users' previous actions and Web history, even if on another Chromebook, are remembered from the previous session.
USB port on the right side
There is one USB port on the right side of the laptop.
The left side of the Chromebook
On the left side of the laptop, from left to right is the power, a VGA connection, a USB connection, and the headphone jack.

Behind the small door is the VGA monitor connection and the USB port.
Bottom of the Chromebook
The bottom of the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook. There is no removable battery.
Function keys removed
The standard function keys along the top row of the keyboard have been removed. Instead, there are more Web-specific keys. On the top right, an ESC key, followed by Forward and Back web browser buttons, Refresh, FullScreen and a button to cycle through Windows, as well as brightness adjustment and volume adjustment.
Dedicated search button
A dedicated search button on the keyboard opens a new tab and places the cursor in Chrome's omni-bar to perform a search.
SD card slot on the front
The SD card slot on the front of the Chromebook.
Insert an SD card
When the SD card is inserted, a standard file director appear to navigate the card.
Camera
Above the screen is the HD camera lens in the center, with a light sensor on the left, and the camera status LED on the right.
