Samsung Mesmerize
As promised by Samsung earlier this year, U.S. Cellular is now offering a Galaxy S series phone. Dubbed the Samsung Mesmerize, it's available now for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $80 mail-in rebate.
Features
The Mesmerize ships running Android 2.1 with Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 interface, and it will be upgradable to Android 2.2. Other features include a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, DLNA support, and mobile hot spot capabilities.
Design
The Mesmerize's design largely resembles that of the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon Wireless. It's slim and lightweight and boasts a gorgeous 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen.
Left side
On the left spine, there is a volume rocker, while there is a power/lock button on the right side. We would have liked to have seen a dedicated camera button thrown in there as well.
Top view
The top of the device houses a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Micro-USB port, which is protected by a sliding cover.
Camera
Like the rest of the Galaxy S series, the Samsung Mesmerize has a 5-megapixel camera and HD video capture.
Picture quality
We were very impressed with picture quality; images looked sharp and colors looked bold and vibrant.
