Samsung Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro are ready for a swim

The Gear Fit 2 Pro, coming Sept. 15, is an enhanced version of last year's Gear Fit 2.

It's compact, with a curved screen.

A new watch buckle strap keeps it on better.

Best of all, it's water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM).

Onboard GPS is also new.

Samsung claims improved heart rate tracking, too.

4GB of storage can hold music, including offline downloading of Spotify playlists.

The deep interface and features give it a smartwatch-like feel.

The Gear Fit 2 Pro costs $200, but its feature set could warrant the price.

The Gear Fit 2 Pro also works with Endomondo, Under Armour's UA Record, MyFitnessPal and MapMyFitness.

The Samsung Gear Sport is the 2017 update to Samsung's smartwatch line, tuned to fitness.

Like the Gear Fit 2 Pro, the Gear Sport supports a variety of fitness apps including UA Record. But it also works with Samsung's Tizen watch app store.

Samsung's Gear apps and watch faces are often well designed. Will there be enough to satisfy?
