Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is a great tablet for taking to-go (pictures)

The superthin and featherweight 8-inch tablet will barely make a dent in your bag.

Skinny mini

Most premium tablets today are slim and lightweight. The Galaxy Tab S2 is currently the slimmest and lightest. It weighs 0.58-pound (265g) and is 0.22-inch (5.6mm) thin.

Stellar screen

The super-AMOLED screen on the tablet is bright, colorful and sharp.

Suede-like feel

The plastic back of the tablet has a smooth, suede-like finish. It's a soft feel that has a nice luxe touch.

Reading-friendly

Unlike last year's models, this version has a 4:3 aspect ratio. That means it's a bit square-er than a rectangular 16:9 screen and is a better fit for reading and browsing the Web.

Great gaming graphics

The saturated colors on the screen make for vibrant gaming graphics.

Sharp camera

The 8-megapixel rear camera is actually pretty decent at taking pictures. That's not usually said of tablet cameras.

Buttons

The buttons are almost flush to the tablet's edge.

Two sizes

There's also a 9.7-inch model available.

Same depth

Though one has a bigger screen, both are equally slim.

Small and large

The pair of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 slates are some of the best Android tablets around.

The 8-inch model is the perfect size for holding in one hand and throwing in your bag when you have to leave the house.

The 9.7-inch model works similarly, but folks with smaller hands will have to use both instead of just one to utilize the tablet.
