The biggest just got bigger -- before the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 2, we've got hands-on snaps of the Note's even more massive follow-up for you to peruse. Click through the photos above to examine the Galaxy Note 2 from every angle.

This titanic telecommunication trinket ups the stakes significantly, stretching the already-monumental 5.3-inch display to a thumb-knackering 5.5 inches. Meanwhile the processor has also been given a boost -- just like the Galaxy S3, the Note 2 contains a quad-core processor.

Clocked at 1.6GHz, that mammoth chip should mean the Note 2 handles high-resolution video, intensive gaming apps and photo editing without breaking a sweat. Speaking of photo editing, the infamous S Pen is back for seconds, slotting into the bottom of the Note 2 in another attempt to make the humble stylus cool.

The design is familiar, but you'll be interested to learn that the whopping screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which means you should be able to watch movies on the Note 2 without having to suffer any annoying black bars.

So far, so incrementally better. But the real surprise here is that the Note 2 will arrive running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean -- the very latest edition of Google's mobile operating system, complete with a host of Samsung own-brand apps that are designed to work with the S Pen.

Having the latest software right out the box, rather than an 'oh we'll update it at some point, honest', is an impressive move. Enjoy the photos above, and read our complete guide to the Note 2 for even more on this tea tray-sized smart phone.
