Samsung 9000-series 3D TV: Star-studded reception with Nick Frost
Last night, the stars came out in force to join Samsung in a celebration of all things 3D. Crave was on hand to bring you all the glitz, glamour and ultra-thin-TV goodness
Whether you like it or not, 3D TV is here, thanks to the efforts of companies like Samsung. Last night, the Korean manufacturer hired out London's Saatchi Gallery to show off its efforts in the extra-dimensional field, and a veritable gaggle of press types, models and celebrities turned up to wonder at the shiny new TVs on show.
Decidedly underdressed, Crave went along to make sure you don't miss out on all the hot goss. Over the next few pages, you can check out Samsung's brand-new LED-backlit 9000-series 3D TV from every angle, and even discover X Factor winner Alexandra Burke's favourite tech product. Man, we treat you good.
But first, read what happened when we caught up with Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost, seen here teaching our very own Luke Westaway how to shake hands like a senator.
Mr Nick, what's your favourite gadget?
"My iPhone, absolutely."
Will you be buying an iPad?
"I don't want one... I'm not sure what the point is... but I have to have it. I just want to see what it's about. I do want to be one of the in-kids... but I'm not sure. I'm having some trouble with bags. Where to put it -- what bag will it fit in? I have a bag for my laptop already... that's my biggest concern about the iPad."
It would fit in a satchel perhaps -- or clown trousers with massive pockets
"I'd definitely consider clown trousers. The trouble is that you'd have to buy two -- otherwise you'd get weighed down on one side."
Perhaps that's Steve Jobs' ultimate plan
"Yeah... Also, you can't put a film in [the iPad]. I know you can download films, but I'd like to be able to stick a LaserDisc in it."
In Shaun of the Dead, you did the whole zombie thing. Do you consider yourself an Apple zombie, craving the latest Apple gadgets?
"No, I'm a 38-year-old married man, so my gadget-zombie days are through."
