Most sleep trackers require you wear a wristband or place a pad under your mattress. The new S+ by ResMed is capable of tracking your sleep wirelessly.

The sensor and stand together are about the same size as a milk carton.

The S+ has a minimalist design, meaning it won't stand out when you place it on your night table.

There is no battery in the S+ and it must be plugged in at all times to function. It connects using a normal Micro-USB port and adapter.

The adapter includes a second USB port for charging your smartphone.

The S+ uses wireless sensors to monitor your heart rate, breathing and movement.

Unfortunately there is no automatic sleep tracking. Before you go to sleep each night you must enable sleep mode on the sensor.

A "Smart Alarm" feature can be set to wake you up at the optimal time within a time frame you indicate each morning. There is also a "Mind Clear" feature that you can use to write down any upcoming tasks you have to perform.

In the morning, you will be greeted with a number from 1 to 100 in the mobile app. This is your sleep score and it's calculated based on the quality and length of your sleep.

You will also see detailed information about the amount of time you were awake, the amount of REM, deep and light sleep you achieved and the number of disturbances you had in the middle of the night.

The S+ is one of the few trackers that actually aims to improve your sleeping habits. Each morning and throughout the day you will receive S+ Mentor notifications. These include sleep facts and tips to help improve your sleep habits.

For example, after I took 35 minutes to fall asleep one night, the S+ recommended that I take a hot shower or bath an hour and a half before bed.

The mobile app is available for free for Android and iOS devices. The S+ sleep tracker is available now for $150.
