The door/window sensor tracks whether a door or window is open or closed. If your Ring Alarm system is armed and a door or window is opened, the alarm will sound.

The complete Ring Alarm Security Kit costs $199. That's a fantastic price for all of these products. You can also add in additional devices a la carte.

Ring's security system is only available in the US at this time. At the current exchange rate, $199 converts to roughly £150 and AU$270.

This is the base station, the heart of your Ring Alarm Security Kit. Either connect to it using your local Wi-Fi network or with a spare Ethernet cable  (that accessory doesn't come with your purchase).

The base station supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, ZigBee and Bluetooth.

The keypad is where you arm and disarm your system. You create a secret PIN code when you set up your system; use that to both arm and disarm your system at the keypad. You can also use the Ring app for arming and disarming.

You can either mount the keypad to the wall or use the included stand to set it on a table.

The motion sensor tracks activity in your home. You can use it pretty much anywhere, but Ring suggests installing it at least 7 feet high so it stays out of reach of pets and kids.

Make sure to install the motion sensor in a place that maximizes its ability to detect activity from a variety of angles.

Use the included range extender to help extend the Z-Wave range 250 additional feet from the base station.

You can monitor the system yourself (meaning you have to call law enforcement or emergency services if something occurs) -- or you can pay for optional professional monitoring at $10 per month.
