Readers' most popular phones (photos)

CNET takes a look back at some of the most popular cell phones of 2010 as chosen by CNET readers.

In the last few days we've shown you our favorite cell phones and smartphones of 2010. We think we picked some of the best, but we realize CNET readers have their own opinions. After all, you use your handset a lot longer then we do so you get a difference experience.

The following handsets are some of your favorites. We considered handsets with more than 100 user ratings and then looked for your favorites. So here they are, the devices you liked from 2010.

Motorola Droid X

User rating: 4 stars

CNET's rating: 4 stars

CNET's bottom line: The Motorola Droid X makes another fine addition to Verizon's Android family, bringing with it a rich multimedia experience and more connectivity features.

HTC Evo 4G

User rating: 4 stars

CNET's rating: 4 stars

CNET's bottom line: The HTC Evo 4G is easily Sprint's best smartphone and one of today's top Android devices. It also shows the promise of 4G, which will grow as Sprint's WiMax network expands, but until there's broader 4G coverage, it's hard to agree with the mandatory premium data add-on fee.

CNET's rating: 4 stars

CNET's bottom line: Sleek and fast, the Samsung Vibrant is one of T-Mobile's top smartphones for entertainment, but its feature set takes a toll on the battery life.

HTC Nexus One

User rating: 3.5 stars

CNET's rating: 4 stars

CNET's bottom line: It doesn't have all the features we'd like, but the Nexus One greatly enhances the Google Android family with a fast processor, good call quality, and improved voice control features. What's more, we love that all versions of the phone will be unlocked.

Samsung Fascinate

User rating: 3 stars

CNET's rating: 4 stars

CNET's bottom line: Sleek and powerful, the Samsung Fascinate is another strong addition to Verizon's Android lineup. Its user interface won't appeal to everyone, particularly seasoned Android users, but it's a good smartphone for the masses.

Apple iPhone 4

User rating: 3 stars

CNET's rating: 4 stars

CNET's bottom line: With the iPhone 4, Apple again shows that it is a powerful player in the smartphone wars. It won't be for everyone, the call quality and reception vary if you don't use a case, and AT&T's network remains a sticking point, but the handset's striking design, loaded feature set, and generally agreeable performance make it the best iPhone yet.

HTC HD2

User rating: 3 stars

CNET's bottom line: The HTC HD2's size and older operating system aren't ideal, but you won't find a more powerful or entertaining smartphone in T-Mobile's lineup.
