High-end drip coffee makers that take brewing seriously

Bonavita's latest coffee maker, the Connoisseur, combines superb brewing performance with a thermal carafe and a compact design to make it our favorite high-end brewer. It's also priced well below the premium competition.  

For just $100 the Bonavita Metropolitan delivers pots of coffee brewed with the same finesse of its gourmet Connoisseur model. 

Those who enjoy tweaking as much of the coffee-brewing process as possible should take a hard look at the Behmor Brazen Plus. It features controls for water temperature, length of pre-infusion time and even altitude.

Don't be fooled by this big plastic coffee maker. It may not win any awards for looks, but the Bunn Velocity Brew BT makes up for it by brewing delicious pots of coffee incredibly fast.

KitchenAid's $250 Siphon Brewer offers a new twist on the old siphon brewing method, namely electricity and automatic operation.

Oxo's 9-Cup Coffee Maker is handsomely styled and comes with an excellent thermal carafe.

The Oxo Barista Brain 12-Cup Brewing System is part premium coffee maker and part electric kettle.

At almost $600, it's a good thing that the Ratio Eight is not only beautifully crafted, but it makes very good coffee, too.

Branded with the legendary Moccamaster name, the KBG 741 AO isn't quite the brewer as Technivorm's classic model. That said, it creates a quality drink and sports eye-catching colors.

As far as premium drip brewers go, the $299 Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 has it all. Sure it's expensive, but it makes pots of scrumptious coffee with hand-built, imported style.
