Google I/O 2014 is here (pictures)

Google's annual developers conference, Google I/O, starts tomorrow in San Francisco, and the doors opened Tuesday afternoon as thousands arrived to register and pick up up their badges for the week's events.

Setting up earlier in the week for I/O, where thousands of developers will congregate to hear what's next in the massive Google pipeline.

Wearables are sure to be a part of the developer discussion this week, as partners will tout several new devices built around Google software, sources tell CNET. Samsung, LG, and Motorola are all expected to show off new gadgets.

Inside the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco, the scene has been set for Google's developers conference, where the company will try to help programmers get more out of both Android and the Web.

For a bit of fun at registration, Google has Glass apps on display that help make recommendations and adjustments regarding your golf and basketball skills.

Glass obviously isn't the first wearable. On display at Moscone West is a vest and belt system designed by Greg Preist-Dorman in 1998.

Google is giving away a stainless steel Google I/O water bottles at registration. The company says this will prevent more than 19,000 plastic bottles being thrown away.
