The Sansa Connect isn't nearly the thinnest flash player we've seen, but it's thin enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, and we like the dedicated volume controls on the left side.
You can send song recommendations to friends on Yahoo Messenger, but they must have Yahoo Music Jukebox in order to play the song.
It's hard to tell from this angle, but the Connect has a cute, nubby antenna that's reminiscent of those on portable satellite radio players. The top of this device also houses a power button and hold switch.
The bottom of the Connect is where you'll find the proprietary USB port and the headphone jack, as with the iPod Nano.
It's not ultracompact, but this player will fit comfortably in most pockets.
A built-in MicroSD slot lets you increase the Connect's 4GB capacity and add photos.
The Connect's scroll wheel has a nice, tactile feel to it and it's multifunctional: pressing up, down, left, or right activates different functions depending on the screen you're in. Two additional buttons below the screen help to take care of additional options within certain menus.
The player isn't superstylish or superugly; it's just kind of nice looking and feels good in the hand.
Use the SanDisk Sansa Connect to download songs from Yahoo Music Unlimited or listen to one of dozens of LaunchCast stations for free.
Certain aspects of the Wi-Fi need to be refined. There's no caching and no way to get past "Terms and conditions" pages on certain open networks.
