Photos: Iriver Wave-Home
The Iriver Wave-Home is a multimedia communication device with a futuristic appeal and a crazy list of features.
The Wave-Home, which is expected to come to the U.S. eventually, will be offered in a choice of two colors: white or black.
The base unit is dominated by a 7-inch touch-sensitive display. The main screen provides a jumping-off point for the various functions.
The Wave-Home is a VoIP system as well as a multimedia device. The majority of the content is stored on a complementing Internet service and available for streaming to the base at any time. The unit also includes 1GB of internal memory and an SD card expansion slot. In addition, there will be a variety of widgets available for weather, stocks, and so on.
Speakers are built in to either side of the base station, and the front of the unit has an integrated camera for video conference. Up to three people can join the conference, and you can take notes on the device while you chat.
The back of the Wave-Home features ports for Ethernet and standard telephone. There's also a slot for storing the included handset--yep, it's a cordless phone, too.
