I-mate's last smart phone, the I-mate Jaq, was...well, let's just say we'd put it in the "What were they thinking?" category. However, the company's trying to right its wrongs with the I-mate Jaq3. With bubbly, tactile buttons and adequate spacing, the Jaq3's QWERTY keyboard is one of the few highlights of this smart phone. Fair warning to e-mail and text-messaging fanatics, you could easily get carried away with this thing.
The Jaq3 is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, but we were pretty disappointed with the image quality of photos. Lines were blurry and colors looked washed out.
