Photos: Hands-on with the Samsung P3
The Samsung P3 is sleeker and more refined than its predecessor, the P2.
The Samsung P3 has a nice, high-quality feel to it. It seems sleeker and sturdier than the P2 before it.
The top edge of the player houses a few tactile controls: dedicated volume and a power/hold button. However, I'm not sure that the top of the player is the most ergonomic location for volume.
On the bottom edge of the player, you'll find Samsung's proprietary dock connection plus a standard headphone jack.
The touch screen is pretty responsive, but I still prefer tactile controls for browsing and other tasks.
Video looks just stellar on the Samsung P3's lovely, wide-format screen.
Love the subway map feature. You can get them for various countries and cities (the large ones, of course).
Samsung's still shunning the Bay--you won't find BART maps here--but you do get NYC.
There's also various themes to choose from, which is something Samsung does well. The one here is a particularly girly number that has a butterfly that will randomly fly across the screen.
