The main thing that distinguishes this player from its Plus-less counterpart is the small (3/4-inch), round screen sitting to the left of the control pad.
The Zen Stone Plus is one of the tiniest players available. It measures just 2.1 inches wide by 1.3 inches tall by 0.4 inch deep and weighs 0.74 ounce. It can be easily concealed in a closed fist.
The player can even fit in the coin pocket of a pair of jeans. Now that's teeny.
The Zen Stone Plus' compact design combined with the FM tuner and stopwatch make it a great option for the gym. You can pick up this extra armband for $14.99.
The bottom edge of the player houses a standard mini-USB port--always appreciated. Plus, there's a reset hole for use if the player crashes.
The Zen Stone Plus also has a rocker button located on the top edge of the device that contains the play/pause/power key and a shortcut key. (The first Stone's play button was in the center of the control pad on the front.) There's also a built-in mic for voice recordings and a standard 3.5-millimeter headphone jack.
The Zen Stone Plus' simple design doesn't make it that easy to use. The screen is too small to display any meaningful song information, so there isn't much to the navigation. You can't browse songs without actually flipping through them audibly.
The Zen Stone Plus can go anywhere with you. For frequent fliers, there's even the TravelSound Zen Stone, which can be paired with the player for enjoying music in your hotel room or other places where headphones aren't so handy.
The armband also comes with a sweat-resistant silcone case (with belt-clip), and it can be adjusted down plenty small enough for skinny arms.
This player is petite enough to be used as a keychain. Indeed, Creative offers a keyring accessory ($12.99) that may help you keep track of your player along with your keys.
...now you don't. The Zen Stone Plus is a pretty insubstantial player, and it's thin enough to be concealed just about anywhere.
The two-color OLED display can't show much due to its small size, but it does allow the addition of some extra features. Some of more useful ones include EQ sound settings, a built-in FM tuner, and a stopwatch.
