As we got Apple's new iMac unboxed and prepped for its benchmark tests, we snapped some quick shots to give you a glimpse at the new aluminum-and-glass design.
The iMac comes bundled with a new keyboard and the updated iLife '08 but the same Mighty Mouse and Front Row remote control.
The iMac trades its white, Lucite plastic shell for anodized aluminum. The screen bezel is much thinner along the sides and top, and the glossy display features a coating made of recycled glass.
The simple, elegant stand looks nearly the same as previous iMacs, while the back of the iMac goes from white to black.
The iMac in profile; it would seem next to impossible to design an all-in-one PC that's any thinner. That slot you see is the side-loading SuperDrive.
The iMac now comes with an even thinner keyboard that matches the new aluminum look of the desktop.
When we powered on the iMac, we realized the screen doesn't stretch all the way to the edge, thanks to the one-inch black border that surrounds the display. How much more would the 24-inch model set us back?
