Siri plus smoke detection

The first smoke detector to work with Apple's HomeKit, the OneLink by First Alert Wi-Fi Smoke and CO Alarm connects to your home's Wi-Fi network, sends you push notifications and responds to voice commands. It even works with the dumb smoke detectors in your house. Click through to find out how.

Responsive sensors

Available in a $120 hard-wired model and a $110 battery-powered version, the First Alert alarm uses photoelectric sensors to catch both fast and slow moving fires.

Easy installation

Installing it is no different than putting a new ordinary battery or hard-wired smoke detector in place. You'll position and mount the backplate first, for added convenience.

Simple setup

The app walks you through each step. When you're ready, simply twist the alarm onto the mounted backplate. It'll audibly greet you, then the light will start flashing blue when it's ready to sync.

Testing with smoke

Once we were up and running, we used cans of smoke and smoke candles to put the alarm to the test.

Sounding the alarm

The alarm itself is loud, and issues a warning that includes the type and location of the emergency.
