Paragon serves up sous vide with a hearty side of versatility (pictures)
The Paragon Induction Cooktop from FirstBuild proves that it is more than just a sous-vide appliance -- the countertop device deep fries, sautés and slow cooks. Its versatility, along with a Bluetooth app, make this an easy-to-use product.
Paragon Induction Cooktop
The Paragon Induction Cooktop is a two-part cooking system. There's a temperature probe (foreground) and induction cooktop. Both are Bluetooth enabled.

To use the Paragon, you have to provide your own induction-friendly pot. The temperature probe attaches to the pot with magnets.

You set the temperature that you want the contents of your pot to get to, and the temperature probe communicates to the induction cooktop to let it know when to heat up or cool down the pot. This is ideal for sous vide cooking.

The cooktop is about 12 inches wide, but the base is 17 inches at its widest point. This means the Paragon takes up a good amount of countertop real estate.

You can use the induction cooktop without the temperature probe or the Paragon's app, which makes it similar to a regular countertop burner.

I cooked this salmon using the Paragon as a sous vide cooker. I then seared it in a pan on the Paragon's induction cooktop.
