Palm Pre 2
Announced back in October 2010, the Palm Pre 2 has finally made its way to a U.S. carrier. The WebOS smartphone is available now from Verizon Wireless for $149.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
Design
The Pre 2 has a very similar design to the Palm Pre Plus. The main difference is that the 3.1-inch HVGA display is flat instead of curved, and the soft-touch finish now extends to the outer edges.
Keyboard
The keyboard is also largely the same as the Pre Plus. The small buttons and cramped space take some getting used to, but it will definitely give people with larger thumbs pause. Needless to say, we're looking forward to the roomier keyboard on the HP Pre 3.
Left spine
The left side features a volume rocker, while the right spine has a Micro-USB port.
Top view
On top of the handset, you'll find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a power/lock button, and a silent ringer switch.
Camera
The Pre 2 features a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video-recording capabilities.
Picture quality
Despite the lack of editing options, we were impressed with the picture quality. Photos came out sharp and with bright colors.
