Focus shift
Nikon's new Focus Shift capability is very similar to Olympus' Focus Stacking, though it doesn't combine the shots in-camera. You choose an increment or the number of shots, and it automatically focuses at varying distances. It saves the series of shots for postprocessing on a computer.
Wireless
While the connections are all the same as on the D810, the D850 incorporates Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
New LCD
One of the nice enhancements is the tilting touchscreen.
No flash
Nikon punted the on-camera flash in order to improve dust and weather resistance.
Cards
The D850 graduates to XQD and SD cards from CompactFlash and SD.
Interval shooting
It's not new to Nikon, but it is new to this line.
Same size as before
Grip
Nikon says it's made the grip deeper, but I didn't notice much of a difference.
Yup, the same from this angle
Same controls
Same ports
Nothing's changed here, either
Another angle
Another shot in the hand
Deja vu
