Rockstar has released a tranche of new GTA 5 screenshots and videos, and we've got the lot right here.

Among them are motorbikes, explosions, planes being chased by police cars, and guns -- plenty of guns.

One of the screenshots is of Pacific Bluffs, which is GTA 5's version of Malibu. It's the first time Rockstar has shown it off. Expect plenty of bikini babes and musclebound hunks wandering about.

There are vehicles galore, explosions, police chases, and the sort of general mayhem we've come to expect from a new GTA game. We get a glimpse of the ever-faithful Ammunation gun store, too. How many times that's saved our bacon over the years.

Along with these new screens, Rockstar has updated the Los Santos & Blaine County interactive travelogue. So what else do we learn about the area? Well the Los Santos Police Department "is famous for tackling crime in the most aggressive and unhinged way possible". You can take part in a triathlon ("sponsored by Ego Chaser Energy Bars"), and there's confirmation of some of the radio stations we can expect. Though we already had a heads-up on those, thanks to a recent leak.

Here's a look at spoof TV network CNT.

And some superheroes with old-fashioned values.

And the aforementioned Ego Chaser Energy Bars.

GTA 5 goes on sale on 17 September -- that's a week on Tuesday. The next iPhone is expected to be out later that week, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hits shops the week after. So looks like it's going to be a busy couple of weeks. Rockstar's magnum opus lets you take control of three main characters, and you can switch between them, to dip in and out of their stories. We've also been promised a rather tasty-looking multiplayer mode, which should be suitably full of carnage.

Better book some days off then -- just make sure you change your username if you're playing online so your boss doesn't spot you. Are you excited about GTA 5? Or is the series past its best? Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook page.

I Got an Early Look at Intel's Glass Packaging Tech for Faster Chips
Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
