MSI really has no shame. Not content with jumping on the Eee PC bandwagon with its Wind series of netbooks, it's just announced a couple of nettops, inspired by the 15.6-inch Asus Eee Top.

Two versions of the Wind Top will be available here in the UK. The entry-level AE1900 comes with an 18.5-inch touch-scensitive display, a single-core Intel Atom 230 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. Later in the year, MSI will release a 22-inch version known as the AE2200, which will sport a dual-core Intel Atom 330 CPU plus -- we believe -- 2GB of RAM and 250GB of storage.

Both models will come with a tray-loading, dual-layer DVD rewriter drive, Gigabit Ethernet and high-speed 802.11n Wi-Fi, plus a four-in-one memory card supporting SD, MMC, MS and xD formats.

MSI will also supply a healthy software package with the Wind Tops. Users can expect MSI EasyFace face-recognition software for secure logins, as well as the finger-friendly MSI Wind Touch interface and a host of productivity software, such as Cyberlink PowerDVD 8.

The AE1900 will be available in April for around £550, while the AE2200 will arrive sometime in June for an as-yet-undisclosed sum of money. We'll have a full review of the AE1900 shortly, but in the meantime, check the pics in our gallery.

This guy is using the Wind Touch finger interface, which is better suited to touch inputs than boring old Windows XP.

The rear of the machine is home to a couple of USBs, Ethernet, audio and mic jacks, and an old-school modem port.

The Wind Top's side. Note the adjustable stand on the rear, which changes the angle of the screen by a few degrees.
