Motorola's Moto G4 Play in the wild

The Moto G4 Play is the newest member of Motorola's G Series family. And like its older siblings, it provides a nice balance between features and price.

The Motorola Moto G4 Play is the newest- and lowest-cost addition to the Motorola G4 line of phones.

Unlike its 5.5-inch display siblings, the Moto G4 Play has a relatively smaller 5-inch screen with a 720-pixel resolution.

The phone is also splash-resistant.

The G4 Play has an 8-megapixel rear camera.

You'll fill up its 16GB of storage fast. Luckily, you can add a 128GB microSD card for all those extra photos and videos.

The comparatively smaller display and the plastic backing make the Moto G4 Play light and incredibly comfortable to hold.

One of its tradeoffs is the lack of a fingerprint sensor -- the Moto G4 Plus has one, though.

Unfortunately, you can't use Motorola's Moto Maker website to customize the G4 Play. But you can pick the color: black or white.

There is a lot to like about the Motorola Moto G4 Play, especially its price. But for a little more money, the Moto G4 gives you even better features.

I Got an Early Look at Intel's Glass Packaging Tech for Faster Chips
Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
