It's been almost a year since the Motorola Droid X made its debut on Verizon Wireless, and now we have its successor. The Motorola Droid X2 is available now online and in stores on May 26 for $199.99 with a two-year contract.

The Droid X2 offers some new features, including a dual-core processor and a qHD display. However, we were disappointed by the lack of 4G support and a front-facing camera.

Like its predecessor, the Droid X2 has an 8-megapixel camera and a dual LED flash, but it offers 44 percent faster shot-to-shot performance.

Motorola Droid X2 (Verizon Wireless)

Editors' rating: 4 out of 5

The good: The Motorola Droid X2 features a qHD display and a dual-core processor for faster performance. The Android smartphone offers good call quality and battery life.

The bad: The Droid X2 lacks 4G support and a front-facing camera. The smartphone is a bit bulky and Motorola's custom UI won't please everyone.

The bottom line: The lack of 4G will be a turnoff for some, but the Motorola Droid X2's fast performance and good battery life make it one of Verizon's most solid Android phones.

On the left spine, you'll find the HDMI port and Micro-USB port. An HDMI cable is not included in the box, so you'll need to purchase one if you plan on mirroring photos and videos from your phone to your HDTV.

The top of the phone houses the power button and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Though we did notice faster shutter performance, picture quality could still be better. Photos taken indoors looked soft and had a pinkish hue.
