Watch your heart
BARCELONA, Spain--With an LCD screen that's easy to read in sunlight plus resistance to water, the Mio Alpha was made for the great outdoors. An indicator under the screen tells you if you're within your optimal hear rate zone.
Mean, green LEDs
Twin green LED lights combined with an optical sensor help the Mio Alpha to measure and record heart rate in real time.
Earthly watch, alien charm
The Mio Alpha's bright LEDs are bigger and produce more light than other competing watches with optical heart rate sensors, notably the Basis Band. These certainly give the Alpha an otherworldly look.
This strap means business
With a wide, sturdy, yet soft and comfortable strap, the Mio Alpha can be worn for hours easily.
An app's-eye view
While Mio doesn't yet have a homegrown app for the Alpha, the device is compatible with many third-party fitness applications such as Mapmyrun and Endomono.
