Lincoln launches 2016 MKX with EcoBoost, Black Label models (pictures)
The luxury SUV features two new Black Label designer models, the first ever Revel car audio system, and a new twin-turbocharged V-6 engine option.
2016 Lincoln MKX
DETROIT – Lincoln's MKX gets an update in the Motor City, gaining the new design language and new powertrain tech that we've seen elsewhere in the automaker's stable of vehicles.
New look
The 2016 MKX gets a facelift that brings its style in line with the smaller MKC crossover.
Optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost
The 2016 model is available with two engine choices. First, there's an optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine.
Projected power
According to Lincoln, this compact, twin-turbocharged V-6 is projected to deliver more than 330 horsepower and more than 370 pound-feet of torque.
Standard 3.7-liter engine
The standard engine is a 3.7-liter V-6, which should deliver 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
Torque and efficiency
The engines are fairly close in horsepower, but the smaller EcoBoost should be both more torquey and more efficient.
Interior amenities
The SUV's interior has been redesigned as well. We like the use of textured, matte-finished wood throughout the cabin.
Revel audio
A first for any automaker, the MKX features an available premium audio system branded and designed by home speaker manufacturer Revel audio.
Speakers
The top-tier Revel system features 19-speakers, but a 13-speaker setup is also available.
Black Label
Lincoln Black Label series is a collection of four designer themes that will be offered as top-of-the-line luxury trim levels. These themes all feature unique color and material combinations.
Driver aids
Like its stablemates, the 2016 Lincoln MKX will also be available with the full range of the automaker's safety tech, such as a 360-degree camera system and semi-automatic parallel and perpendicular parking.
