LG's steel-clad V10 smartphone (pictures)

As the inaugural smartphone in LG's new line of ultra high-end handsets, the V10 is stacked with numerous features including two displays, two front-facing cameras and a fingerprint sensor.

The device's 2.1-inch secondary display has six shortcut menus to swipe through. The first is a general greeting where you can write your name or personal message in seven different fonts.

Other menus on the display include recent and favorite apps, music player controls, your favorite contacts and your calendar with upcoming events.

Below the secondary display is the main 5.7-inch touchscreen, which has a 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution and 513 ppi pixel density.

The handset has stainless steel rails running down its left and right edges and metallic accents around the camera and front-facing audio grille, making it one of the most premium handsets LG has designed to date.

On the bottom edge of the phone are a 3.5mm headphone jack, the audio speaker and a Micro-USB port for charging and data transfers.

Folded into the rear power button is the fingerprint sensor. It can scan up to four fingerprints and users can use the sensor to unlock the lock screen.

The scanner also enables users to access hidden notes written in the QuickMemo+ app, unlock pictures that are locked away in the photo gallery and authorize payments on Android Pay.

LG packed the device with manual camera and video controls. In addition, the rear 16-megapixel shooter can record 4K video and create photo collages quickly. You can also record time lapse and slow-mo videos, as well as stitch together several 3-second clips to make a longer 60-second supercut video.

On the front are two 5-megapixel front-facing cameras. One is an 80-degree standard angle lens and the other is a 120-degree wide angle lens that captures more space within a frame.

The handset is powered by a six-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 processor from Qualcomm and a removable 3,000mAh battery. It also has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and the option to expand up to 2TB.

With the V10, LG went all out with its new family of premium phones, decking it out with numerous features. However, the phone is pricey and many of these features land on the "nice to have" side of the spectrum rather than the "have to have." For more about LG phones, check out our reviews here.
