LG G Pads don simple, streamlined designs for less

The 7 and 10-inch pair are so comfortable and cool you might just have to go collect one.

LG G Pads

The 7 and 10-inch LG G Pads are a budget-friendly pair of tablets with useful software extras. Anyone interested in a tablet for everyday use and casual Web browsing should check out their sleek, minimalist designs.

LG G Pad 7.0

The LG G Pad 7.0 joins a crowded room of small budget tablets. Though it can slightly blend into the crowd, a closer look at its simple, but chic, design sets it apart.

LG G Pad 10.1

The LG G Pad 10.1 houses the same specs as the 7-inch model, which is fine until it comes to the screen resolution. In comparison to the smaller G Pad, the 10-inch screen looks pixelated.

Smooth and matte back

Both G Pads are very comfortable to hold. The rounded corners melt-in-your-hand and the smooth texture of the matte back is comfortable against your fingertips.

Slim, for a large slate

The designs aren't cutting edge, but for budget tablets they're sleeker than usual. The G Pad 10.1 is on the thinner and lighter side of the large tablet spectrum.

Small, but not slim

The 7-inch G Pad's design is a little more girthy than the Nexus 7, but still bears a striking resemblance to the Google tablet.

micro-SD for you and me

A micro-SD card can go a long way on a tablet with only 16GB of internal storage. Both tablets house one, with a small flap to conceal the goods.

Minimal buttons

The minimalist look is complimented by the limited amount of buttons on the tablet. The power button and volume rocker slyly blend into the design of the G Pads and are barely noticeable.

IR blasters blast-off

The IR blasters are small, but make a big difference in the value of the LG G Pads. Starting at $149, the 7-inch model can double as an affordable universal remote.

Multi-tasking for the casual user

The dual-window capability is one of the highlights of the revamped LG interface found on the G Pads 7.0 and 10.1. Though they can't handle too much action, they can easily help you do basic -- but important --  tasks, like locate the best pizza place in town.
