Lexus LC F and LC Convertible caught in the wild

With the help of professional race car driver Scott Pruett, Lexus shook down prototype versions of the LC Convertible last week in California on Angeles Crest Highway. 

This most recent sighting follows the debut of the LC Convertible Prototype earlier this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

At Goodwood, the LC Convertible Prototype ran up Lord March's famous hill. 

Outside of a small hump above where the convertible top lives, the drop-top version looks just like the coupe.

Upon close inspection of the spy photos, the LC Convertible appears to have unique seats. 

Photographers also spotted a pair of LC 500s testing with the LC Convertible prototype. 

Photographers noted that the LC 500s did not sound like stock vehicles with a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8. The sounds of turbos spooling and a deeper exhaust note was apparent. 

The turbocharged powertrain could be what will powered the rumored LC F. 

Lexus had a BMW 8 Series and 6 Series on hand for benchmark purposes while on Angeles Crest.

While we're still waiting to hear from Lexus that the LC F is indeed coming, the LC Convertible in production form should appear soon.
