With its aluminum, silvery sheen, the Le S3 looks expensive. But at just $250, it's actually quite affordable.

At just $250 (£200 or AU$340 converted), the LeEco Le S3 is a competitively priced phone that offers decent hardware. In addition to its 5.5-inch display, it has dual-SIM capabilities and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor and a nonremovable 3,000mAh battery.

The device has several apps that center around streaming video content: LeLive, which broadcasts shows live from the internet; the YouTube video curator LeView; and the Le app, which also has movies.

Unfortunately, the phone does not have a headphone jack, so you'll either have to use a wireless Bluetooth headset or a dongle to listen to your music and calls.

On the back is a 16-megapixel camera and fingerprint sensor. For your selfies, there's an 8-megapixel shooter in the front.

The device does not have an NFC chip, so you can't purchase stuff over Android Pay. There's also no expandable storage on top of the 32GB of built-in memory.

The Le S3 is an affordable phone if you're on a budget, but there are other options. The Motorola Moto G4 Plus has expandable memory and it's water resistant. The Asus ZenFone 3 is even cheaper and has a more advanced camera that includes laser-guided autofocus.
