Aimed at kids aged 4-7, Leapfrog's new LeapBand is an accelerometer-based activity tracker... and a virtual pet on a wrist.
The LeapBand costs $40 in the US and £30 in the UK, and has a 1.44-inch color screen. One of eight little virtual pets work with minigames fueled by activity tracked on the band.
Green, pink, blue: These are the LeapBand's colors.
It's water-resistant and is made to work as a stand-alone band, but also pairs with an app for extra games.
Ten games come pre-loaded on the LeapBand.
The LeapBand arrives in August in the US and UK, but Australia is yet to get a release date.
A downloadable companion app adds additional minigames that work with the LeapBand's virtual pet.
